CHICAGO, IL, UNITED STATES, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- A revolutionary era in industrial automation launched today at the International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), the largest manufacturing show in the western hemisphere, with the joint announcement that Single Pair Ethernet System Alliance and SPE Industrial Partner Network have merged to create a new unified entity, Single Pair Ethernet Association (SPE Association), representing members from more than 130 leading manufacturing and technology companies worldwide.

With this bold decision, approved unanimously by the leadership of both networks, the two previously independent organizations are consolidating their expertise, activities and memberships under the SPE Association identity in order to build momentum and accelerate the development, standardization and global market adoption and implementation of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) technology for industrial communication, automation and IIoT.

As a leading-edge solution to advance the future of industrial automation, the innovative Single Pair Ethernet technology streamlines Ethernet connectivity by transmitting data at high speed and longer distances through a single twisted pair of wires instead of the traditional two or four pairs. SPE can be used in a wide variety of industrial environments, especially in applications where minimizing weight, space or cost is essential.

The newly-formed SPE Association aims to strengthen global visibility regarding the significant advantages of SPE-enabled industrial automation and to support a robust industry, user and research forum, allowing a close alignment of technical content, market activities and international initiatives. Existing members of the two founding networks have been integrated seamlessly to Single Pair Ethernet Association, ensuring that their established knowledge base and extensive experience will fully contribute to the work of the new association.

“IMTS provides the ideal setting to showcase groundbreaking and game-changing Single Pair Ethernet as a foundational technology that is destined to shape the future of industrial networking, and we would welcome IMTS attendees to visit our Booth #236134,” said Nick Sandoval, President of SPE Association’s North American Marketing Council. “This exciting merger to create Single Pair Ethernet Association marks the beginning of a new chapter in strong industry collaboration. Working together as one entity with an agile and global approach and a collective voice, we can help manufacturers unlock simpler architectures for greater interoperability and a more connected future.”

Single Pair Ethernet Association will enter the global arena by premiering at the following trade shows:

● IMTS (International Manufacturing Technology Show)
Booth #236134, North Building, Level 3
Chicago, IL in the USA – Sept. 14-19, 2026

● IAS (Industry Automation Show)
